How the Texas LTC Process Works (Simple Steps)
Texas allows the classroom portion to be completed online through approved providers. After finishing the online classroom portion, applicants must complete range instruction and a proficiency demonstration with a qualified instructor.
Step 1 — Complete the online classroom portion (4 hours).
Step 2 — Complete the required range instruction + proficiency demonstration with a qualified LTC instructor.
Step 3 — Submit your application and required materials through Texas DPS.
